Abbotsford’s Yogi’s Karate Dojo scored an impressive haul from the recent Canada Open Karate Championships 2024, with eight local athletes earning medals.

Armaan Dhaliwal collected a silver and bronze, while Krishang Chauhan, Dhruv Shukla and Reyansh Guglani all recorded silver medals. Earning bronze medals were: Angad Bhatti Singh, Aryan Neema, Devayan Sharma and Ranon Sharma.

The event occurred at the Richmond Olympic Oval on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. It is considered one of the largest karate tournaments in Canada. The event is organized by Karate BC, and sanctioned by Karate Canada, the National Sport Organization for karate in Canada and is a member of the World Karate Federation.

“This outstanding performance highlights the hard work and dedication of Yogis Karate Dojo’s athletes and coaches,” stated head coach Yogender Chauhan. “Their success at this prestigious international tournament is a testament to their passion for the sport and their commitment to excellence.
